ROGER DEVORE PHOTOGRAPHY
Roger has been seriously involved in photographic pursuits for the past 20 years. He has a Bachelors of Arts in photography from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He works around the St. Louis area doing freelance photography work from commercial to sports to model portfolios, but his passion is his fine art photography of wildlife and nature. He produces vivid color images with his unique vision and perspective. Roger is also a partner in The Nature Workshops offering photographic instruction in some of the most beautiful natural scenic areas of North America. He recently completed a one man show at the Mitchell Museum in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, spotlighting the Cache River Natural areas of Southern Illinois. All images are available in a variety of sizes mounted and matted with framing as an option. All images will be superior to the rendition on the web site. It is virtually impossible to match the print quality of a finely printed image on a computer screen. Email of call if interested in purchasing. Description of Work Roger produces photographic images in sizes from 8"x10" to 32"x40" (matte size). He uses a variety of camera systems to accomplish his fine art photography, from 35mm to medium format to 4x5 large format, choosing the best system to accomplish his photographic goal. He is totally involved in the entire image making process from visualization in the camera to processing the film to printing the images. The choice of materials in making, printing, and presenting an image influences tremendously the quality and longevity of a photographic print. His goal is to use only the finest materials available, with an emphasis on permanence, to insure his prints continue to please for many, many years. All prints are limited to a signed edition of 250 each and are matted using museum quality, acid free materials. Images are printed directly from transparency films using the Ilfochrome (Cibachrome) printing materials or, more recently, digital printing on Premium Luster paper. We believe these processes to be the best available for making prints from slides giving superior color saturation, sharpness, and stability which virtually eliminates fading common in other color printing processes. Roger uses his work to emphasize his love for the outdoors. He uses his unique vision to capture landscapes, wildlife, and other natural subjects for the majority of his images. His photographic interests are not limited solely to nature, however, he also photographs other noteworthy subjects with an emphasis on dynamic lighting. No matter what the subject, his goal is to capture a unique image that will bring the excitement to the viewer of the final print that he felt when making the photo. He hopes the viewing public will share the emotion and joy he felt at the moment the shutter opened.
